Chester Otis Clifton, 69, of Fredericktown, died Friday, September 29, 2017 at his home. He was born January 19, 1948 in Quilan, Missouri, a son of Edgar Otis and Marie (Mathis) Clifton.
On October 31, 2000 Mr. Clifton married Ester Street. She survives in Fredericktown.
Other survivors include: stepson James Street of Fenton, Missouri; stepdaughter Shannon (Chuck) Gentles of Piedmont; sisters Barbara Windle of Cape Girardeau, and Dorothy Vaughn of Campbell, Missouri; six step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Clifton was preceded in death by brother Lester Clifton and sisters Mary Whited and Joann Young.
Chester had worked at Madison County Wood Products in Fredericktown. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, fishing, collecting old cars, clocks, gospel music and going to church where he was a member at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church in Fredericktown.
Funeral services were October 3 at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Spain officiating. Internment was at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Chester Clifton Memorial Fund.
