Shirley Rae Shelton, age 77 of Imperial, Missouri died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She was born March 9, 1940 in Monsanto, Illinois to Samuel Eugene and Dorothy Marie (Rodgers) Hunt.
She married Theodore "Ted" Shelton May 21, 1956. He preceded her in death March 16, 2002.
Also preceding Mrs. Shelton were her parents; son, Lt. Col. Theodore F. Shelton; grandson, Daniel Shelton; brothers Robert Zimmerman and James Hunt; and sisters Sandy Lockhart and Betty Massey.
Survivors include son Kenneth (Margaret) Shelton of Imperial; daughters Sharon (David) Foard of Frisco, Texas and Karen Smith of Farmington; brother Roger Hunt; sisters Debbie (Hunt) Mayes, Diana (Hunt) Johnson and Carol (Hunt) Isenhart; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Shirley had worked for the Trimfoot Shoe Manufacturing Company in Farmington. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering and genealogy. She was a member and past officer of the Sarah Barton Murphy Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Funeral services were Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home. Internment was at the Pine Union Cemetery near Marquand.
