Throughout life we are faced with challenges and obstacles of every sort and kind.
Finances seem to be one of the biggest contributors in household problems and divorces. We are encouraged through advertising that we would be better off if we had this, or that, or the other thing, and we fall prey to our desires and buy. Without consulting one another or counting the overall cost, we charge ahead and get ourselves into trouble.
Dishonesty plays another role in the choices we make. “It won’t hurt anybody” or “Nobody will know” or “It won’t happen to me” are phrases often used to soothe our consciences and put our selfish desires to have our own way above wise decision making. These types of determination often cause harmful consequences and painful results. Remember, the Word of God tells us we are responsible for our actions.
There is another type of determination that gives positive results instead of negative. These are the determined people that regardless of the circumstances, they never give up. They find the cures, the answers, the results of problems. They don’t stop until they have an answer.
Of course, with their determination is their faith that there is an answer. None of us can base our efforts to get the results on our own abilities. Instead we must choose to believe and have faith not to give up.
There is a saying that goes, “Faith always stops at the question mark.”
If we question that there is an answer, our determination will be for naught. Our Heavenly Father has all the answers to any questions we might have. Determine in your hearts to ask Him for guidance, let Him show you the way through His Word, and then head for the goal line. Be positively determined to achieve the end result.
Remember in the Bible the story of the woman with an issue of blood who was determined to just touch the hem of Jesus garment? She knew in her heart that is all it would take for her to be healed and she did it. Be determined, have faith, and move ahead.
