The Fredericktown High School Basketball Team lost a close game at Arcadia Valley, Thursday night.
The Cats led 16-15 when Mallory Mathes hit a shot with 15 seconds left in the first quarter.
Callista Francis grabbed seven of her game-high 14 rebounds in the second quarter. She assisted on a Mathes lay-up with 20 seconds left as the Cats extended their lead to 29-26 at the break.
Fredericktown increased its lead to 37-31 early in the third before the host Tigers scored 12 straight points. Arcadia Valley led 46-43 entering the final period.
The Cats trailed by three in the last seconds of the game. A three-point attempt by Mattie Whitworth fell just short, and Kylie Mann put in the offensive rebound as time expired.
The Lady Cats were led by Francis who scored 17 to go with her 14 rebounds. Whitworth scored 12 points, Mathes scored 11, Maddie Burrows scored seven, Mann had five, and Evann Davis and Emmaline Glore each scored two points.
Blackcats fall to Jefferson in overtime

The Blackcats play Farmington at 7 p.m., today in the 62nd Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament, in Park Hills.
