Veteran's Day Memorial Ceremony
Veterans from the Fredericktown VFW post presented a Veteran’s Day Memorial Ceremony beginning at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month for all the veteran’s from Madison County, Missouri. Master of Ceremonies was U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Bill Hart (ret). First Sergeant Don Firebaugh (ret) read the list of names of those soldiers and sailors from Madison County. Chaplain Earl Bollinger offered a prayer during the ceremony. The program ended with TAPS being played.

The Happy Feet Walk-A-Thon had nice weather compared to last year’s walk. Several local organizations joined in support of the playground project which will provide a place for children with disabilities to play.
Cherokee Pass Businesses Meet To Discuss Economic Outlook
Several Cherokee Pass businesses and individuals have been meeting since October to discuss the economic climate of the area.  About 15 people gathered Thursday, November 12. (Not all businesses were at this meeting).

Boy Scouts distribute food donation bags
Clayton and Caleb distribute bags for food donations to residents on Albert St. Saturday. Boy Scout Troop 27 and Cub Scout Pack 27 remind everyone, the bags of food will be collected this coming Saturday, November 21. Please have the donations ready for pick up by 8 a.m. If you would like to make a food donation, the scouts will be at Teen Town where you can drop off your donations Saturday morning. All donations go to the Madison County Food Pantry to help local people in need.

Driver Has Minor Injuries In Rollover
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to an accident on November 8, 2009 along US 67, 1.2 miles south of Cherokee Pass. According to the report Roger B Hampton, 64, of Piedmont suffered minor injuries when his 1999 Ford Explorer and towed unit ran off the road and overturned. Hampton was traveling southbound on 67.
