On October 19, 2009, the Honorable Madison County Commission met pursuant to adjournment with the following officers present: Presiding Commissioner John Rauls, First District Commissioner Dennis Bradford, and Second District Commissioner Larry Mungle. County Clerk Don Firebaugh was present to record the proceedings.

To better serve the citizens of Madison County the health department will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In October of 2009, Madison County 911 Joint Communication Dispatchers answered a total of 295 calls on the emergency 911 lines

The Madison Medical Center (MMC) Board of Trustees met at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, for their regular monthly meeting. The following board members were present: Bob Schwent, Kent Marler, Larry Hunt, Ruth Ann Skaggs. Denny Ward was absent.

Willard Carroll Francis, 68, of Fredericktown, Missouri, died October 23, 2009 at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown. 

Vivian Lucille Lee, 88, of Farmington, Missouri died October 28, 2009 at Farmington.

Ricky Lee Reeves, 53, of Fredericktown died October 23, 2009 at St. Clair Hospital.

Robert E. DeLand passed away October 27 in El Segundo, California. A resident of Fredericktown from 1980-1994, he was predeceased by his wife Beulah in 1995. Survived by daughters Susan Reid-Callanan and Beth Dean, six grandchildren-including John Reid III, Scott Reid, and Patrick Reid- and twelve great grandchildren. Services in Fredericktown will be scheduled at a later date.

Linda Sue Crabtree, 62, of Nashville, Tennessee, (formerly of Cherokee Pass, Missouri), died October 19, 2009 at the Summit Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Delmar Dwayne Hanks, 63, of Sikeston, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri died, October 21, 2009 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Stella Parson, 93, a resident at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Home died October 20, 2009 at Stockhoff.

John Nelson Griffon, 72, of Imperial (formerly of Cherokee Pass), died October 24, 2009 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Dorothy Rosemann Muehling Klein of Rockford, Michigan returned to the arms of her savior on October 21, 2009. Loving wife of the late John G. Muehling and the late Raymond M. Klein.

Richard Edward Schaefer, 49, of Park Hills, Missouri, died October 14, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Festus, Missouri. 

Byron James  “Jim” "JB" Barber,  70, of Fredericktown died October 14, 2009 at his home in rural Fredericktown. 

Gordon Lindsey Sr., 64, of Lake Wappapello, died October 9, 2009, at  ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown.

Norma Beatrice Kozinski, 90, died October 6, 2009 at the Lexington House Nursing Center in Chicago Ridge, Illinois.

Brenda Marie Grubb, 61, of Marquand, Missouri, (formerly of Thebes, IL), died October 13, 2009 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Marlene J. Hurt, 69, of Piedmont, MO, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Piedmont, MO.

Wilbert Melvin James, 85, of St. Louis died October 12, 2009 at his daughter’s home in rural Fredericktown, Missouri.

Adrian Van Buren Stevens, 88, of Fredericktown died October 5, 2009 at Fredericktown.

Arthur “Jack” Higbee, 96, of Fredericktown died October 6, 2009 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.

Velva Joan Rauls, 72, of Fredericktown died October 9, 2009 at Fredericktown.

Gerald F. Johnson, 85, of Madison County died October 3, 2009 at Fredericktown.

Ruby E. Breeden, 85, of Fredericktown died October 3, 2009 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Creve Coure.

Cecil Odis D. Frazier, 72, of Fredericktown died October 2, 2009 at his home in Fredericktown.
