The Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce’s "Christmas in Our Hometown" parade will be held Dec. 5.

The parade will be held at 7 p.m. The route will be the same: North Allen and DeSoto to Division, S.W. Main to the Bonne Terre Post Office.

To register an entry in the parade, call the chamber office by 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at 573-358-4000. Cash prizes are $200, first place; second place, $150; third place, $100; fourth place, $75 and fifth place, $50.

Once again this year, Santa has decided to join the chamber float. He will thus be unavailable for any other floats.

Candy and other items cannot be thrown from floats but may be hand-distributed. Routines should not exceed two minutes.

The Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce will have a giant Christmas card display for individuals and organizations this holiday season. It will be located in Diamond Drill Park at the wedge behind the Miner Statue.

The cards need to made of a 4- by 8-inch sheet of plywood and can be stood upright or on its side. You can include your greeting, and your business or your family name. You will need to build a sturdy brace in order for the cards to stand and stay secure in the ground.

Cards displayed in previous years can be used again. For more information contact the Chamber at 358-4000.
