Fred Cervinka, 87, of Ashland, Mo., passed away Feb. 29 at his home in Ashland in the company of his wife, daughter, and grandson.
Fred was born in Farmington in 1924. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was confirmed after attending two years of the church school. Fred graduated from the University of Missouri in Poultry Husbandry and established and owned Heart of Missouri Poultry Farm and Enterprises in Columbia, Mo.
Fred was the loving husband of Mary Riggs Cervinka who survives him. He also leaves behind his son, Mitchell Cervinka and wife Darlene of Stillwell, Ks.; his daughter Carolyn Cervinka Richardson and husband David, of Kamuela, Hawaii; grandchildren, Erik Blessman, Christy Connor and April Cervinka, and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his sister, Marie Cervinka Ingram of Scotia, Neb. He was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Cervinka Clark.
A memorial service was held in Olivet Christian Church in Columbia, Mo. on March 10. A graveside service followed at the Knights of Pythias cemetery in Farmington.
