Newland Vickery, age 85 of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born on April 6, 1928 in Ironton to Theodore and Ollie Huff Vickery. He married Dorothy Comfort on September 23, 1948. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2007.
Mr. Vickery was a licensed audiologist. He was the retired, former owner of Universal Hearing Aid in Farmington. At one time, he was also the manager of Perryville Loan Company.
He is survived by four daughters; Tammy Boyer of Desloge, Judy Vickery and Bridget Rhodes both of Cape Girardeau and Mary Vickery of Scott City, three sons; Tim Vickery of Cape Girardeau and Joel and Nick Vickery of St. Louis, one sister, Marge Cashman of Jasper, TX, one brother, Jack Vickery of Bismarck, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one son, Dicky Vickery and one sister.
Graveside funeral services for Newland Vickery will be held at 11AM, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to Lutheran Home Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
