The 2018 Legislative Session has begun and bills are being referred to committees and are moving efficiently through the legislative process, especially those bills that were left hanging at the end of the Session last year.

Two such bills from last year are: HB 1287, which I sponsored, that specifies that commercial insurers are exempt from filing rates and policy forms to certain lines of commercial insurance. HB 1381 establishes procedures relating to financial accreditation standards for insurance companies. Both bills have been heard in the Insurance Committee. Both passed with unanimous support and now will hopefully continue moving to the finish line.

On Tuesday, the Governor delivered his State of the State address. If interested, you can access the entire text by clicking on this link  https://governor.mo.gov/news/archive/governor-eric-greitens-2018-state-state

In addition to the legislative process, I always enjoy visiting with the various groups or individuals who come to the State Capitol, especially when they are from my district, regarding their issues or concerns or their own legislative agendas. This last week I had the pleasure of meeting with individuals from TAG Truck Center; Robby Phillips and Russell Cobb. Also, met with Missouri Limestone Producers and had the chance to say "hi" to Dr. Steven Kurtz representing the Missouri Community Colleges.

Please know that my office is open to anyone visiting the Jefferson City area. I would enjoy visiting with you, giving you the grand tour of our beautiful State Capitol and always available to help with any of your state issues or concerns.
