Emily Easter and Brett Joseph were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony on May 28, 2011, officiated by Chaplain Jacob Pollard. The joyous wedding was well attended by family and friends who watched the bride be given away by her father, Joe Easter, her mother, Terri Richardson and her stepfather, Paul Richardson, to the groom, son of Larry and Carrie Joseph.
Wedding party was as follows: Maid of Honor, Missy Boyer (best friend of the bride); Bridesmaids: Amy Easter (sister of the bride), Ashlynn Boyer (friend of the bride), Dana Joseph (sister of the groom); Groomsmen: Justin Nettles, John Barnett, Austin Schrum, and Brian Burcham (all friends of the groom).
The bride’s grandparents, Quail and Jackie McFarland, and her parents, as well as the grandfather of the groom, Bob Nichols, and the groom’s parents were seated by escorts Matt McFarland, Jared McFarland (both cousins of the groom, Sam Schrum (friend of groom) and Josh Nichols (cousin of the groom).
The ceremony included traditional exchanging of vows written by the bride and groom, as well as the breaking of the glass, a Jewish tradition and gesture of good luck, which took place under a hopah made of cedar poles and grapevines.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, a reception was held at Elizabeth Hall for nearly 300 guests, family and friends. Some members of the groom’s family traveled from Wisconsin, California, Michigan and Ohio to attend the wedding.
After a honeymoon cruise to Key West and the Bahamas, the happy couple has made their home in Cuba, Missouri, where Emily teaches Biology and Environmental Science at Cuba High School. Brett teaches P.E. and Health, and coaches basketball at Sullivan High School.
