Officials caution residents to 'write in Desloge'DESLOGE — A Zip code issue has Desloge officials fearing its population won’t get counted correctly by the census. City Administrator Greg Camp is urging residents to look at the front page of the census form and scratch out the city if it is anything besides Desloge. Residents are then supposed to write in Desloge.

Doctor settles federal Medicare, Medicaid lawsuitST. LOUIS — A Town and Country doctor who owns and operates six pain management clinics, including one in Farmington, has agreed to pay $820,000 to the federal government to settle a lawsuit involving claims of Medicare and Medicaid fraud. The agreement does not involve an admission of guilt.

TIP Hospice's local office is located behind Burger King in Farmington and serves St. Francois, Madison, Perry, Iron, Washington and Jefferson counties. TIP Hospice provides interdisciplinary services from physicians, skilled nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains and volunteers. In addition, TIP's bereavement program provides grief support to the family and friends of loved ones for at least 13 months after death. A free monthly support group is also provided free of charge to any persons in need.

Officers uncover one of largest meth labs in countyBONNE TERRE — The sharp nose of a deputy on his way home from work early Tuesday morning uncovered one of the biggest methamphetamine labs ever in St. Francois County, according to police. St. Francois County Sheriff Dan Bullock said about three pounds of ephedrine was uncovered along with several ounces of methamphetamine.
