Accidents

A driver and two passengers were injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday, March 26, on Route N, five miles west of Delta in Cape Girardeau County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, driver Jessica D. Kirkpatrick, 16, of Arcadia, and passengers Dana L. Hardy, 17, and Ezekiel J. Whited, 25, both of Fredericktown, were all transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment of serious injuries. All three were wearing seat belts according to the patrol.

Crash scene investigators for the patrol report at 11:40 a.m. Kirkpatrick was traveling south on Route N in a 2007 Dodge Ram when she swerved to avoid another vehicle in her lane. The truck then ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Damage to the Dodge Ram was listed as total and it was towed from the scene.

Local woman airlifted following crash

Paramedics airlifted a Fredericktown woman to a St. Louis area trauma center following a single-vehicle accident Friday, March 28 on MO 51, one mile north of Patton in Bollinger County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Air Evac transported Anna M. Hovis, 64, to Barnes Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The patrol reports she was not wearing a seat belt.

Crash scene investigators for the patrol report at 7:45 a.m. Hovis was traveling north on MO 51 in a 2010 Hyundai Accent when she failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then ran off the roadway and overturned.

Damage to the Accent was listed as total and it was towed from the scene.
