NEW DETAILS: In addition to the parade being postponed, the Boyer Funeral Home's annual Memorial Tree service scheduled for this evening at 6 p.m. has been postponed until Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: The 38th Annual Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade has been postponed until Wednesday due to inclement weather forecasted for this evening.

Bonne Terre Auction Committee Chairperson Brian Boyer said they will still have the parade and will still be taking late entries until the day of the parade.

“Everything will remain the same as planned, we will just be doing it on Wednesday instead of this evening,” said Boyer. “Line up starts at 5:30 p.m. behind city hall and the floats can enter through the Benham Street entrance. Someone will be there to check everyone in and the parade will start at 7 p.m.”

Boyer added the theme is ‘Christmas Luau’ and there will be several floats, a marching band, fire departments, the ERDCC is the color guard, and the last float in the parade - the chamber float - will feature Santa and Mrs. Claus.

This year’s first-place winner will get a $200 cash prize, second place will receive $150 and third place gets $100 for best decorated floats following the theme. There will be three community members judging the floats as they pass the Shepard House.

This year’s parade route will be the same as in the past. It will start at the intersection of Desoto Road and Division Street. They will then go south on Division to Main Street, go east on Main to the Bonne Terre Post Office and will disperse at Centennial Park in front of the post office.
