DESLOGE — Kenneth Marler, 85 of Desloge, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was born February 18, 1928, in Wortham. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII on the USS Fort Marion where he was a coxswain on the ship. He was a member of Elvins Ionic Lodge #154.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, Jesse and Julia Katherine (Pitts) Marler; wife, Frances (Keay) Marler; siblings, Zida Rasnic, “Doe” Marler, and Nelson Marler (infant brother).

Kenneth is survived by: Daughter, Sharon Keay (Mrs. Roger) Keathley of Bonne Terre; grandchildren, Kasey Jenkins and wife Stacy of Bonne Terre, Hanna Jenkins, Jesse Jenkins and wife Monica, all of Desloge; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brenna, Claire, Sienna, Eli, and Ethan; a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7. The service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Bismarck Masonic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Farmington Pet Adoption Center
