An area man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on Route E in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at 4:50 p.m. David Haarmann, 48, of Festus, was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 southbound on Route E north of Pine Creek Road when the truck went off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected, then went off the left side of the road and rolled. Haarmann, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
Haarmann was airlifted to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Survival Flight with serious injuries.
He is being charged with a felony for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
In an unrelated accident, an area man was injured in a one-car crash Monday at 10:36 p.m. on Highway 49 just north of Route B in Iron County.
According to the patrol report, Aaron Egerer, 38, of Annapolis, was driving his 2003 Volkswagen Jetta northbound on Highway 49 when the vehicle ran off the roadway, struck a tree, a concrete retaining wall and overturned.
Egerer was flown by Air Evac to Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis with serious injuries. He was not wearing his seat belt.
