Deputies with the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department were led on a high-speed pursuit that went through several counties early Wednesday.
St. Francois County Sheriff Dan Bullock said one of his deputies spotted some individuals at Bone Hole outside of Desloge between 2:30 to 3 a.m. and when he turned around to let them know they couldn’t be there they took off.
“(The pursuit) reached speeds up to 80 to 90 mph. They went through Park Hills and towards Ironton, then they were in Iron County off Highway 21 and Highway 72,” said Bullock. “The supervisor ended up calling it off because there was no real reason to continue, other than fleeing.”
Bullock said they did identify the truck and the driver and will be submitting reports to the prosecutor’s office for charges.
“The officer figured out who the driver was and who the truck belonged to,” said Bullock. “The officer saw the driver and when he ran the plates he looked the person up whose name it came back to on Facebook. It was the same person he saw.”
Bullock added the person wasn’t a local person. The plates on the truck were from Kentucky.
