Several injured in area accidents

A Bonne Terre man was seriously injured in a two vehicle crash early Tuesday morning at 6:15 a.m. off U.S. 67 in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shelia Anderson, 47, of St. Louis, was driving her 2016 Jeep Cherokee southbound on U.S. 67 at Flucom Road while Isaiah Wougamon, 24, was stopped at a stop on Flucom Road in his 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Wougamon began crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. 67 and pulled into the path of Anderson. The front of Anderson’s jeep struck the side of Wougamon’s Cobalt.

Anderson received moderate injuries. Wougamon was not wearing his seat belt and was seriously injured. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance.

In an accident in Washington County on Monday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. two Texas residents were ejected from their motorcycle and injured.

According to the patrol report, Lawrence Meir, 61, of Lorena, Texas, failed to see a driver slowing in front of him while riding his 2008 Honda Goldwing northbound on Highway 21 just south of Highway 47.

He applied the brakes and began skidding, causing a trailer he was pulling with his bike to jackknife, causing both Lawrence and his passenger, Laure Meir, 59, also of Lorena, Texas, to be ejected. The bike continued on and ran off the right side of the roadway.

Both were taken to Washington County Memorial Hospital by Washington County Ambulance with moderate injuries.
