A Farmington woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning in Madison County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Gwendolynn B. McDaniel, 24, of Farmington, was killed in the crash which occurred at 6:58 a.m., Wednesday on Route OO, four miles north of Fredericktown.
McDaniel was driving a 2007 Jeep south when she crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, being driven north by Jennifer L. Menteer, 33, of Fredericktown.
McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene by Madison County Coroner Collin Follis. She was not wearing a seat belt according to the report.
Menteer was wearing a seat belt.
This is the first fatality reported in 2018 in MSHP Troop E which includes Madison County.
A Bonne Terre man was injured in an unrelated one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The report states that Robert Gerst, 46, of Bonne Terre, was travelling south on US 67 north of Flucom Road at 6:54 p.m. when the accident occurred.
Gerst’s 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt reportedly began skidding, then traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a cable barrier.
Gerst received moderate injuries and was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center via ambulance.
A Bonne Terre woman received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident in St. Francois County, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The report states that Demanda King, 27, of Bonne Terre, was travelling westbound on Silver Springs Road west of Berry Road around 9:15 a.m. when the accident occurred.
King reportedly traveled off the right side of the road in a 2013 Toyota Venza and struck a guardrail. She received minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by ambulance.
