BAY MENITTE (AL) — The Mineral Area Cardinals flew South for an eight-game road trip starting with Sunday’s doubleheader against the Faulkner State Sun Chiefs. The Cardinals had their bats rattling for 14 hits to win game one 11-9, scoring eight of their runs in the first inning.

Tanner Glore hit a home run in the game. Chris Ostrowski was the winning pitcher and Ivan Pyska came in to close the door on the Sun Chiefs to get the save.

In game two, the Cardinals managed only seven hits against Faulkner State pitcher Kyle Deckwa as the Sun Chiefs won the second game 13-1. The Cardinals contributed to the Sun Chief’s win with four errors in the game.

Mineral Area (7-4) will play Enterprise State CC in Ozark, Alabama today at 1 p.m.
