FULTON - The Mineral Area College Cardinals golf team held their own as the only two-year college entered in the William Woods tournament among all four-year NAIA schools. On Tuesday at the Tanglewood Golf Course, the Cardinals improved 17 strokes as a team over Monday's round.

After an opening round of 79, Tanner McKinney shot a 70 on Tuesday to finish in the Top 10 of the tourney. Kellen Bader shot an 80 to finish with a 164. Matt Gordon shot 82 for a two-day total of 168. Eric McCoy scored five better on Tuesday with an 83 for 171, and Jese Schott shot 85 for a 168.

Mineral Area will be back in competition in two weeks when they travel to Springfield, Ill. to play in the Illinois College Tournament.
