CARTERVILLE, Ill. – Cailey Bracken hammered 13 kills and made 11 digs on Tuesday as the Mineral Area volleyball team swept John A. Logan 25-18, 25-17, 25-23 to remain unbeaten.

Melissa Avendano connected on eight kills and Raylyn added six more as the Lady Cardinals involved a wider array of attackers on the front row.

Shelby Meyer finished with 22 digs, and Jane Kickham provided 16 more in the victory while playing on the back row exclusively.

Pam Zuluaga totaled 32 assists with seven digs while matching Anica Popadic with four kills. Ainslee Finch brought up 11 digs.

The 10th-ranked Lady Cardinals (23-0), one of two remaining unbeaten clubs in NJCAA Division I, will host Kaskaskia on Thursday for Camper Night.

The young players will be recognized before the match, have a chance to win prizes and get autographs after the action.

A victory would equal the longest win streak for any sport in school history following the perfect 24-0 start by the men’s basketball team last winter.
