DYERSBURG, Tenn. – The Mineral Area women’s basketball team entered the holiday break with a flat performance Friday against an opponent that it ripped by 30 points two weeks earlier.

Dyersburg State utilized 16 points and 11 rebounds from center Erin Foster, and prevailed 47-39 in the rematch while limiting the Lady Cardinals to a season-low scoring output.

Mineral Area (7-5) salvaged a 23-19 halftime lead, but was outscored by the Eagles 15-5 during the third quarter and shot just 30 percent for the game.

Olivia White totaled 10 points and eight rebounds for the Lady Cardinals, who were 3-of-22 from beyond the arc and committed 26 turnovers.

Allie Golden added eight rebounds and six points. White converted the only two free throws attempted by the visitors.

Sophomore center Hannah Taulien missed her third straight game with an injured foot. Mineral Area will be idle until hosting NW Mississippi on Dec. 28.
