VINCENNES, Ind. -- Sophomore Chelsea Pannier knocked down 6-of-8 shots from beyond the arc while scoring a game-high 25 points, and the Mineral Area women’s basketball team defeated Vincennes 79-67 on Thursday night.
Ashleigh Bow tallied 15 points and seven rebounds as the Lady Cardinals stopped a 3-game road losing streak. Mineral Area (18-4) extended a 37-35 halftime lead by going 11-of-21 overall from 3-point range.
Janelle Travis added 14 points with six assists and Chelsea Roberts scored 11 in the victory. MAC will next host Moberly in a key Region 16 contest on Saturday.
Chelsea Jellison paced the Trailblazers with 16 points and Zhanna Chukhrii had 13. Ashley Hawkins added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Mineral Area reduced its turnover total from previous outings to 15 and pulled away for a 75-56 lead late in the second half, earning its second win over Vincennes (8-14) in 11 days.
