Jessie Bloom

FARMINGTON — Jessie Bell Bloom of Farmington passed away on January 21, 2003, at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 96 years. She was born on March 29, 1906, at Blodgett, Mo. , the daughter of the late Manley and Pearl Stagner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louie E. Bloom, an infant child, Ella Mitchell, three daughters, Marie Hawkins, Thelma Strong and Joy Rousseau, a son Bill Bloom, one brother and three sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Delassus Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Lenna Vee (Mrs. Cecil) Holman of Sikeston, Nina (Mrs. Fibber) McGee of Delassus, and by a son, Jack Bloom and wife Betty of Yulee, Fla., by 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5-8 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2003. Funeral services will be held at the Cozean Chapel on Friday at 1 pm with the Rev. James Marler officiating. Burial will follow at the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Chestnut Ridge Cemetery Upkeep Fund. This obituary is online at: .
