Crash on Highway 72 claims lives of three people
A multiple fatality accident on Highway 72, 11 miles east of Fredericktown in Madison County, claimed the lives of three people Tuesday.
Andrienne Behal, 31, Ste. Genevieve, was killed when the vehicle she was driving pulled out to pass another vehicle, colliding with a vehicle driven by Robert Moon, 57, Black, head-on, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Moon and Behal were pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger in Moon’s vehicle, Ricky Keith, 42, Bismarck, was flown to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau where he was pronounced dead.
Two other passengers in Moon’s vehicle were severely injured, Erna Moon, 50, Black, and Lynetta Keith, 38, Bismarck. Both Erna Moon and Lynetta Keith were flown to St. Francis Medical Center.
In an unrelated accident, Amanda Ellis, 18, Bonne Terre, was fatally injured Tuesday in a one-car accident on Route O near Hillsboro Road in St. Francois County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle, driven by Rikki Shibley, 16, Bonne Terre, dropped its tires off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected. The vehicle then exited the left side of the roadway and overturned. Ellis was ejected from the vehicle.
In an unrelated accident, Ryan Bolin, 19, Park Hills, was killed in a one-car accident on US 67, a little more than a mile north of St. Francois State Park, early Wednesday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Bolin’s vehicle was traveling northbound when it entered the median. The truck then traveled out of the median onto the highway and overturned several times, ejecting the driver.
