Golf tournament to benefit Relay for Life

The deadline is June 13 for the Relay for Life Charity Golf Tournament sponsored by The Daily Journal and the St. Francois Country Club. The tournament is June 20. It begins with lunch served at noon with tee-off at 1 p.m.

The cost for the four-man scramble is $240 per team and that includes lunch, refreshments and cash prizes. Checks should be made payable to the Relay for Life, an event that benefits the American Cancer Society.

“We’ve had a Relay team for several years, but we thought this would be a great way to raise money and get the community more involved,” said Dave Buerck, business manager of the Daily Journal and avid golfer. “And if you like to play golf, the Country Club course is a great one.”

Thirty-six teams are eligible for play in the contest with entry forms found in The Daily Journal. Entries should be mailed to: The Daily Journal Relay for Life, P O Box A, Park Hills, MO 63601. Include the team captain’s name, team name, and names of other team members.
