This year the Democrat News Pride Edition will feature three sections.

The first section will feature a photo contest with three categories; Family, Scenes of Madison County and creative imagery.

Call 783-3366 for details, but get those cameras out and about. Don’t wait as final submissions must reach our office by 5 p.m. June 18, 2003. Prizes will be awarded and the photos published in the special Pride Edition.

Basic entry requirements for photo submissions are: No photos larger than 8 by 10. Black and white or color. All submissions must have been taken in Madison County. Recent photos are best. All digital images must be submitted on disk, not printed out. Any 35 mm prints are acceptable. Slides are not acceptable.

Creative photos are encouraged. Unique views of Madison County are needed.

No e-mail submissions will be accepted. Photos must be brought to the Democrat News or mailed (to P.O. Box 471). Democrat News is not responsible for late, lost or damaged submissions. Photos will be returned if self addressed stamped envelope is provided. Or they can be picked up from the office located at 131 S. Main St. in Fredericktown after June 25, 2003.

Along with the photo section there will be a section on 24 hours in Madison County and a section on antique or unusual vehicles owned or operated by Madison County residents. If you such a vehicle or knowof someone who does, call Robert or Alan at 783-3366.
