Second person involved in accident on Route AA dies

Two of four people in accident have died

A second person has died as a result of a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday night on Route AA in St. Francois County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Charles Brackett, 27, Farmington was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday at Barnes Hospital by Dr. Hart.

A vehicle driven by Joshua Nations, 25, Ironton, was driving south on Route AA and ran off the roadway while in a curve. The vehicle collided with two trees.

Nations was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Francois County Coroner Jim Coplin. Robert Lott, 24, Farmington, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Barnes Hospital by Air Evac Helicopter Service, as was Brackett. Amanda Cook, 19, Des Arc, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Mineral Area Hospital by St. Francois County Ambulance.
