Bernice Mae Thomas
FARMINGTON – Bernice Mae Thomas, 83, of Farmington, formerly of Terre Du Lac died Nov. 11, 2003 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. She was born June 12, 1920 in Elvins.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills and was baptized in 1949; was a Registered Nurse and was coordinator of Practical Nursing at Mineral Area College for 16 years; member of MO State Teachers Assn., member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority International.
Preceded in death by, Parents, Arvil Edgar and Verla Gertrude (Greer) Gillihan, husband Robert Thomas, brother, Marion Gillihan.
Survived by son, Col. (retired) Robert W. Thomas (Carol) of Georgia; daughter, Barbara Susan O’Brien of New York; four grandchildren: Major Robert J. Thomas (Michelle) of New York, Ian S. Thomas (Amy) of Chicago, Erin O’Brien of New York and Sean O’Brien of New York. Three great-grandchildren: Brittainy, Madison and Savanna. Brothers, Harold Gillihan (Phyllis) of Florida; Donald Gillihan (Barbara) of Desloge.
Visitation today at 6 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Park Hills with Rev. Thomas Reeder, Sr. officiating. Interment at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church-Park Hills or Presbyterian Children’s Home.
