Virginia Adams

FARMINGTON – Virginia Lee Adams of Farmington passed away on November 21, 2003, at Camelot Nursing Center at the age of 78 years. She was born on July 28, 1925, at Flat River, the daughter of the late Sylvester Andrew and Ethel (Snodgrass) Hand. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Adams, foster son, Terry Grissom, and two brothers, Richard Hand and Robert Hand.

Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Farmington.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Adams, Myra “Penny” Menjoulet and husband Phillippe, all of Farmington, and Sara Gluntz and husband Douglas of Pacific, a foster daughter, Patty Truska and husband Don of Farmington, brother, Russell Hand of Dothan, Ala., four sisters, Helen Gamblin, Doris Grindstaff, Shirley Jackson, and Ruth Young and husband Noah, all of Fredericktown, five grandchildren, Jessica, Brie, Kit, Dawn and Craig, and chosen grandson, Brett Burgess of O’Fallon. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

She was a special mother and loving friend to many outside her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2003. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 10 to 12 p.m. Noon. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Temple at Fredericktown on Sunday, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Cureton officiating; burial will follow at Marcus Memorial Cemetery.
