Man dies in Iron County accident
A Texas man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Iron County near Arcadia.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Thomas Short, 52, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was pronounced dead at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis after the accident.
Reports indicate the Ford Explorer driven by Short ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle stuck an embankment and overturned. The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on Route E.
Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route T Thursday night.
According to patrol reports, Ada Smith, 74, and Samuel Smith, 75, of Fredericktown were moderately injured and were taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Reports indicate Samuel Smith was driving westbound on Route T near Old Jackson Road when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed Old Jackson Road and struck a tree.
Four people were injured in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 67 south of the Big River bridge Thursday morning.
According to patrol reports, Lori Martin, 26, of Grandin, received moderate injuries while Dannie Martin, 25, Jimmy Martin, 8, and Joanna Martin, unknown age, received minor injuries. All were transported by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.
Reports indicate Lori Martin fell asleep while driving which caused the vehicle to travel into the median and overturn several times.
One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday night.
According to patrol reports, Donald Fortune, 18, of Farmington, received minor injuries and was taken to Parkland South Health Center by ambulance.
Reports indicate Fortune was driving eastbound on Route DD near U.S. 67 when a westbound vehicle crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. Fortune avoided the vehicle and traveled off the side of the road, striking two trees.
