Mrs. Phyllis Herbst

FARMINGTON – Mrs. Phyllis Jean ‘Brockmiller’ Herbst, 77, passed away December 10, 2003, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Phyllis was preceded-in-death by: her parents, John Hobart Brockmiller and Ethel Irene ‘Batson’ Brockmiller. Her husband, Lawrence Raymond Herbst (1995); one son, Gregory Herbst (1997) and one sister, Helen DeMarco.

Phyllis was: a devoted Catholic and active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Farmington; dedicated housewife and mother. She enjoyed baking and sharing her “goodies’ with others.

Survivors include: Two daughters – Susan ‘Mrs. Don’ Smith, of North Richland Hills, Texas; Kay ‘Mrs. Jimmy’ Venable, of Sulphur, Louisiana; one son, Stephen (and Kathy) Herbst, of Folsom, California. Seven grandchildren: Billy, Leslie, Erika, Kristen, Amy, Johnny and Catherine. Six great-grandchildren: Aundrea, Taylor Nicholas, Lauren, Madisen and Alexander.

Visitation starts Monday, 4 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral SErvice Chapel, Farmington. Visitation resumes Tuesday morning at 7 a.m., and funeral mass Tuesday, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Farmington, with Fr. Tom Wissler officiating. Burial follows at New Calvary Cemetery, Farmington. Memorials to: The Alzheimer’s Association; The American Heart Association and/or the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Building Fund.
