Roger Hamilton Joseph Turley
DESLOGE – Roger Hamilton Joseph Turley, 72, of Goose Creek, passed away January 12, 2004, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis. He was born November 17, 1931, in Bonne Terre.
He was a retired Captain for Goose Creek Fire Dept.; a Marine veteran of the Korean War; Chaplain for Leadington VFW; Trustee Knights of Columbus.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Hamilton and May (Roux) Turley; son, Robert Turley; two sisters, Margie Wilfong and Carol Stagner; grandfather, Dr. Lee Turley.
Survived by: His wife, Betty (Hysinger) Turley of Goose Creek; four children: Roxanne Stitt of Kansas City; Renee McMinn of Farmington; Russell Turley of Piedmont; and Jennifer Nash of Edwardsville, Ill. Nine grandchildren: Sarah and Scott, Chad and Jason, Dwayne, Tiffany, Tiara, Taylor and Tyron; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis.
Visitation will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. with prayer service at 6 p.m., at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church in French Village with Rev. John Schneider officiating. Interment at St. Anne Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Goose Creek Fire Dept. or family.
