Leadington Chamber sets annual banquet

Master Sergeant John Barker will serve as the guest speaker at the annual Leadington Chamber of Commerce Banquet on Jan. 23. The event will be held at Elizabeth Hall and is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

From 5-6 p.m. appetizers and drinks will be available. At 6 p.m. a dinner catered by Glenda Straughn will be served.

Following the dinner several awards will be presented by local media outlets. The Daily Journal/ Farmington Press will be presenting the Citizen of the Year Award while KFMO/ B104 will be presenting the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award. KREI / KTJJ will present the 110 percent Award and Froggy 96 will give out the Elite Service Award.

At last year’s banquet, Leadington Police Chief Cledith Wakefield was named the Daily Journal/ Farmington Press Citizen of the Year. Jodi Nichols was honored by KFMO/ B104 while Grace McCrorey was recognized by Froggy 96.

Tickets for the event are $10 each and can be purchased at the door the night of the event or can be purchased in advance at the Leadington City Hall.
