Florence Silsby

DESLOGE – Florence Silsby, 98, of Park Hills passed away March 7, 2004 at Country Meadows in Park Hills. She was born February 7, 1906 in Flat River. She was a lifetime member of Taylor Avenue Methodist Church where she played the organ for over 40 years; was Youth group leader for several years and leader of the women’s group; played piano for Children’s Sunday School; held Methodist Conference office for four years; head of S.E. Missouri Women’s group; attended Washington University and taught for 45 years at Flat River Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by: Parents, Otis F. and Carrie Emma (Williams) Silsby; and sister, Ila Silsby.

Survived by: Many loving cousins and friends.

Visitation: Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.

Service: Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Taylor Avenue Methodist Church with Rev. Eddie Bone. Interment at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Taylor Avenue Methodist Church.
