Berniece L. Marsh

TONGANOXIE, Kan. – Berniece L. (Wilkinson) Marsh, 66, of Tonganoxie, Kan. (formerly of Fredericktown), passed away Saturday, March 27, 2004 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City. She was born Nov. 2, 1937 in Chaffee, the daughter of Abraham C. and Nancy L. (Childers) Wilkinson. On July 24, 1955 in Fredericktown, she was married to Norman Marsh, who survives in Tonganoxie.

Other survivors include: Son, Daniel Marsh of Draffenville, Ky., daughter, Deborah C. Bailey of Del Rio, Texas, two brothers, Bill Wilkinson of Festus and Abe Wilkinson of Peroria, Ill., two sisters, Rosemary Vaughn of Ste. Genevieve and Stella Parsons of Granite City, Ill. and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Douglas, four brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Marsh was a 1955 graduate of Fredericktown High School and a homemaker. She was a former Girl Scout leader, and a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. She was also the former food chairman for Independence Days in Lawrence, Kan.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Christian Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in honor of Mrs. Marsh or to the American Cancer Society.
