No quorum, no vote on Desloge zoning issue

DESLOGE – A quorum wasn’t present at Monday’s Desloge Planning and Zoning Commission meeting therefore a vote could not be taken on the rezoning request of 1110 N. Desloge Drive from R-1 (single-family residential) to C-1 (neighborhood commercial).

The home business of Huck Chiropractic is currently housed at the address. The owner requested the rezoning because under Desloge municipal code a home business can only employ family members and signs are restricted to a certain size. The business owner is wanting to hire additional staff other than family and is wanting to put up a bigger sign.

In other matters discussed, Todd Streiler, representing Bucher, Willis and Ratliff, introduced himself and the work his firm would be doing to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Streiler distributed a regulatory update survey to city officials and members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. The survey explored issues ranging from current zoning to signage to sidewalks and public improvement. The rest of the meeting was used to explore the survey and to get feedback on current zoning codes.
