Accidents on U.S. 67, Route W send Farmington residents to hospital

A two-vehicle accident Tuesday on U.S. 67 at Rosener Road in St. Francois County sent two Farmington residents to the hospital.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Tirenna Mann, 25, Valles Mines, was attempting to cross southbound U.S. 67 and failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Rebecca Wertz, 61, Farmington. Mann’s vehicle struck the left rear of Wertz’s vehicle, caused Wertz’s vehicle to overturn. Aubrey Wertz, 57, Farmington, was ejected.

Rebecca Wertz sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by St. Francois County Ambulance. Aubrey Wertz sustained serious injuries and was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by St. Francois County Ambulance.

In an unrelated accident on Tuesday, a one-vehicle accident on Route W in St. Francois County resulted in two Farmington residents receiving serious injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Larry Tourville, 60, Potosi, traveled off the south side of the road and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to skid off the north side of the road, strike a dirt embankment and overturn.

Tourville sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. John’s Mercy Center by Arch Helicopter. Cynthia Allgier, 48, Farmington, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by Air Evac.
