Rockets and Yankees pick up Wednesday wins
PARK HILLS – The Park Hills Rockets and the Farmington Outlaws locked into a Bantam League pitcher’s duel Wednesday night, and the Rockets came out on top with a 3-1 win. All four runs in the game were scored in the first two innings, as both pitchers got stronger as time transpired..
Collin Manion got the win by pitching all five innings and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 batters. Evan Dunivan took the loss for the Outlaws even though striking out eight batters in his three innings on the mound. Jared Dunlap finished up the last inning and struck out the side.
All the hits in the game were singles with Jake Rhodes, Manion, and Colin Bess all having one each for the Rockets. Brayden Biri had a lone single for Farmington.
Yankees 9, Steamers 1
DESLOGE – Derek Emily stayed in control of his pitching and also the Valley Steamers batters. Emily struck out nine batters and gave up only two hits in the game for the Yankees. The Yankees had a big, five-run, third inning which basically closed the Steamers out for the game.
Tanner Beers hit a single and a double in the game for the Yankees. Sam Hulsey had two singles, Aaron Parker, Cody Mahurin and Jaco had one triple each in the game, and Zachary Franklin had one single. A.J. Pierce with a single and Logan Midgett with a triple made up the Steamers offense for the night.
