Tennis, soccer and golf is part of MAAA’s multi-sport Tuesday
FREDERICKTOWN – The Fredericktown Lady Cats defeated Chaffee by a score of 9-0 in tennis on Tuesday.
In doubles, sisters Morgan and Courtney Kemp shut out Shelby Rice and Stephanie Whitaker, 8-0. Jodie Cooper and Chelsea Cureton won their match against Tara Probst and Brittany Koch by the score of 8-1. Marie Peppers and Rachel Page shut out Amber Rhoda and Amber Burton.
In singles play, Morgan Kemp defeated Rice, Courtney Kemp won the match against Probst, and Cooper triumphed over Whitaker, all three being shut-outs. Peppers emerged victorious over Koch by the score of 8-2. Cureton shut out Rhoda, and Page defeated Burton by the score of 8-1.
The Lady Cats (7-0) travel to play at Arcadia Valley today.
SOCCER
DESOTO – The Farmington Knights emerged victorious Tuesday in soccer over DeSoto. The final score was 3-1.
Matt Rhodes scored the first goal in the 16th minute of play. Luke Vogelang scored in the 59th minute and Brad Green scored in the 60th minute of play. Green was assisted by Aaron Holman for the third goal.
Corey Gibson recorded the win for the Knights. He had three saves.
The Knights (3-1-0) travel to Cape Notre Dame Thursday.
GOLF
FENTON – The Farmington Knightettes golf team participated in the Riverside Tournament. Twenty-eight teams played in the tournament. Christy Polus of Farmington took second place in the tournament with a 75.
The Knightettes travel to Eureka on Thursday.
