All-Conference volleyball teams selected
PARK HILLS — With Valle completing its final games at the state tournament this past Saturday, the MAAA Conference released its All- Conference selections for the 2004 season. The selections were made by the coaches in each of the two conferences, small-school and large-school, with each coach not being allowed to vote for any of their own players.
Players were either selected for first team or honorable mention, depending upon the number of votes they received. The first team in each conference is made up of six players, and out of the 12 players selected for first team all were seniors except for one sophomore.
LARGE SCHOOL
Conference winner Farmington placed three players on the first team for the large-school conference. Seniors Natalie Hooss and Randie Wooldridge were selected along with sophomore Megan Bess. Jessica Moyer from Central, Ashley Mims from Potosi and Danielle Lindsey from Ste. Genevieve made up the rest of the team.
Honorable Mention went to senior Tausha Petty and sophomore Chelsea Pinson both from Central, seniors Brittany Hedgcorth from North County, Lora Dickey from Potosi, Lindsey Palmer from Ste. Genevieve, and sophomore Nicki Settlemoir from Fredericktown.
SMALL SCHOOL
The Small-School All-Conference first team was made up of all seniors. Valle had two players selected in Kara Schilli and Kayla Schweiss. Bismarck also had two players named in Karah Faullkner and Chelsey Morris. Arcadia Valley’s Meghan Schaaf and Valley’s Christa Yount were also named to the squad.
Honorable Mention was awarded to seniors Angie Herzog and Sarah Hermann form Valle. Senior Amber Amelung from Arcadia Valley, junior Emily Rasnick from West County, and sophomore Chelsey Politte from Bismarck were also named Honorable Mention.
