Knights lower boom on Cape Central Tigers

CAPE GIRARDEAU – The Farmington Knights picked up their third dual win of the season with a 41-24 win over Cape Central on Tuesday. The Knights recorded four falls in the meet.

Farmington spotted the Tigers six points with an open 103 weight class. Joey Newland (112) won a major decision 13-5. Craig Wilson (119) picked up a tech fall with a 24-9 score. Nicholas Hoehn (125) scored six points for the Knights with a fall of his opponent at 2:29.

Max Robinson (130) lost a tight one, 3-0, and Justin Hill (135) followed with 12-7 loss. Michael Zaricor (140) scored a 12-3 major decision for the Knights, but Kenny Burch (140) was disqualified in his match.

Kevin King (152) only needed an even minute to record a fall in his match, and Eric Koppeis (160) took only 1:35 for his win. Seth Hennes (171) lost by fall in 48 seconds.

Tyler Epstein (189) squeaked out a 7-5 decision. Jake Hise (215) recorded a fall in 35 seconds and Kyle Haywood scored a 4-0 win.

Farmington, 3-1, will attend the Gateway Dual Meet at Oakville on Saturday. Several teams across the central states will be included in the very high-rated meet.
