Lady Rebels get much needed win, Valle on top of small-school standings

PARK HILLS — The Central Lady Rebels had things go their way when they hosted St. Clair Thursday. Central crashed the boards well and improved their shooting accuracy as they picked up their second win of the season by the score of 57-43.

The Lady Rebels will host Farmington for a conference game on Thursday.

Arcadia Valley 66, Valley 24

IRONTON — The Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers defended their home floor against the Valley Lady Vikings Monday. Arcadia Valley’s solid defense allowed no points by Valley in the fourth quarter. The Lady Tigers scratched out a 66-24 win over the Lady Vikings.

Arcadia Valley, now 4-5 and 1-1 MAAA, will host South Iron today. Valley will travel to Bismarck for a conference match-up on Tuesday.

STE. GENEVIEVE — The Valle Lady Warriors basketball team has continuously picked up win after win. Thursday was no exception when the Bismarck Lady Indians paid Valle a visit. Although the game was tied 16-16 after the first quarter, the Lady Warriors led 29-21 at the half and kept the lead throughout the game. Valle defended their home floor by the score of 49-37.

Bismarck will host Valley of Caledonia on Tuesday. Valle will travel to Potosi on Wednesday.

STE. GENEVIEVE — The second day of the Ste. Genevieve boys tournament proved to be a frustrating one when the host took on Marquand. The game was sent into overtime by the score of 67-67. Marquand outscored the Ste. Genevieve Dragons 10-7 after regulation for a 77-74 win.

Ste. Genevieve’s Garrett Ditch snatched 26 rebounds, but most of the defense struggled throughout the night. “We played pretty bad defense throughout the night,” stated Dragons head coach Mark Gibson.

Ste. Genevieve will wrap up their tournament against St. Pius today.

PIEDMONT — Thursday proved to be a high-scoring game between Clearwater and the Fredericktown Blackcats. Although Clearwater led 40-28 at the half, Fredericktown outscored Clearwater 23-14 in the third quarter as the Blackcats only trailed by three points. Clearwater still held on for a 71-64 win.

Fredericktown (3-7) will travel to North County today.
