Anna Bodine

FARMINGTON – Anna M. Bodine, 97, of Farmington, died January 24, 2005 at St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis. She was born July 25, 1907, in St. Louis.

Married Jesse R. Bodine, June 12, 1928. She worked with her husband on their farm near Bloomsdale for many years. Beginning in 1975, she worked as a tour guide in Ste. Genevieve, and was a guide at the Bolduc house for more than 18 tears, where she enjoyed meeting people from many locations; a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ste. Genevieve, where she served as an Elder and a Sunday School teacher; a life member of Presbyterian Women of the Church; a member of the GFWC Women’s Club of Ste. Genevieve, and was active in the Foundation for the Restoration of Ste. Genevieve; an officer and charter member of the Ste. Genevieve County Farm Bureau; a board member of the Ozark Regional Library Board and the Ste. Genevieve County Health Board; active in many other community efforts and gladly served whenever called upon. She will be missed by many.

Preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R. Bodine; father, John E. Bradfield; mother, Anna F. (Meyer) Bradfield-Layes; grandson, Raymond Kern Jr.; granddaughters: Susan Ann Bodine; Mary Frances Bodine.

Survived by son, Dale (Jeanette) Bodine, Farmington; daughter, Margie (Raymond) Kern, Ste. Genevieve; grandchildren: Larry (Regina) Bodine, Bonne Terre; Linda (Scott) Maxey, Arcadia Valley; Rita Bodine, Fresno, Calif.; Cathy (Kurt) Bodine-Klanderud, Arvada, Colo.; Marcia DeMarco, Boulder, Colo,; Jonathan Kern, Bloomsdale; Elizabeth (Duane) Luffy, River Aux Vasses; granddaughter-in-law, Sandra Kern, Bloomsdale; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home on Friday, January 28, 2005 from 3 to 8 p.m.

Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 10 a.m., the Clergy will be Tisha Mundy. Burial will be at St. Lucas Cemetery, St. Louis. Memorials can be made to Charity of choice.
