Knights’ season ends at Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF — The Farmington Knights watched their season come to an end in the Class 5, District 1 tournament on Tuesday. Farmington faced off against the No. 1 seed Poplar Bluff Mules and were held scoreless in the first quarter,16-0, as the Mules marched on to a 78-33 win. Tyler Hansbrough led the Mules’ scoring with 27 points.

Farmington finished their season with a record of 20-7.

LESTERVILLE — The West County Bulldogs came out ready to go against Lesterville on Tuesday. West County led 22-8 after the first quarter and held a 40-22 lead at the half. The Bulldogs traveled back home with a 76-36 victory over Lesterville.

West County, now 22-3, will be at Central on Friday.

CALEDONIA — The Valley Vikings had a very frustrating night against the Grandview Eagles. Valley came up short on the free-throw line as they made 13 out of 27 attempts. This proved to be their downfall as the Eagles came out victorious 71-68.

Valley (7-16) will host Bunker on Thursday.

PARK HILLS — The Central Rebels had a very exciting game against the Crystal City Hornets on Tuesday. Central forced a few turnovers and drained several key baskets against the Hornets. The Rebels defended their home floor by the score of 58-52.

Central, now 15-11, will play their last home game on Friday against West County.

VIBURNUM — The Bismarck Indians had a very long road trip to and from Viburnum on Tuesday. The journey was in vain as Bismarck came out extremely flat, and Viburnum picked up a 80-58 win.

Bismarck (12-11) will travel to Lesterville on Thursday in hopes of getting back on the winning track.

HILLSBORO — Tuesday night had a pair of winless teams go head-to-head for their first win of the season as the Valley Lady Vikings faced off against Grandview. After the first half, Grandview racked up 20 points in the third quarter while they only allowed two. Grandview picked up their first win of the season by the score of 56-33.

Valley (0-19) will travel to Perryville on Monday for their first district challenge. The Lady Vikings will play Valle Catholic.

PERRYVILLE — The Ste. Genevieve Hunters saw their season come to an end on Tuesday against Perryville in district action. The Hunters struggled to score in the first quarter as Perryville held a 13-2 lead after the first quarter. Ste. Genevieve couldn’t make up for their slow start, as Perryville walked away with a 50-28 victory.

The Hunters wrapped up their season with an 8-17 record.
