MAC vs. Three Rivers in Region 16 Tournament

ROLLA – The Cardinals begin post-season play this week in the Region XVI Tournament. Mineral Area College finished the season in a tie for second place in the Region with Three Rivers. The Raiders won the tie-breaker and have earned the #2 seed in the Tournament. Both teams will earn first-round byes and play each other in the semi-finals on tonight at 7:00pm.

The game will played at the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building on the campus of the University of Missouri – Rolla. The winner will earn a spot in the finals, which has a three game series format this season.

Mineral Area is led by sharp-shooter All-Conference and All-Region guard Ryan Byrne. Byrne is averaging 13.5 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and is shooting 43.1 percent from three and 83.7 percent from the free-throw line. All-Conference guard Kenny Burke is averaging 11.8 and shooting 37.5 percent from three. Tremaine Wilkerson leads the Cards in rebounding at 5.9. MAC is currently on a four game winning streak with a win over Three Rivers two weeks ago 84-78, Ryan Byrne had 26 in the game.

Three Rivers is led by All-Conference and All-Region Guard C.J. Hadley. Hadley is averaging 16.5 PPG and shooting 41.9 percent from three. Dominitrix Johnson is scoring 12.2 points a game and Duke Sturdivant chips in 10. Jerome Dailey leads the Raiders in rebounding at 7.5 a game. The Raiders have won two in a row and hit on 21 three pointers last week against South Suburban.
