Central and Arcadia Valley golfers still perfect on season

FARMINGTON – The Central Rebels won both ends of their tri-dual golf match Tuesday, beating conference foe Potosi 175-187, and non-conference foe Perryville 175-202 to remain undefeated on the season at 3-0.

Grayson Clark tied with Potosi’s Brett DeClue for medalist honors with a 41, but from there on it was all Central. Jimmy Guinn shot a 43, Keith Huff had a 45, and Will McDowell rounded out the team scoring with a 46. Tory Marler scored a 47, and Brad Burgess scored a 51, but their scores were not needed for the team score.

Potosi’s Sean Martin shot a 45, Ryan Portell had a 50, Brittany Chazelle shot a 51, Jason Heeter scored a 52, and Aaron Dickey finished with a 64.

Central is now 2-0 in conference and will play next in the Potosi Tournament on Monday at the Fourche Valley Golf Course.

Arcadia Valley 166, Valle 169

STE. GENEVIEVE – Arcadia Valley’s Jordan McLaurin gave the Tigers a four-stroke advantage and it was plenty enough as the Tigers defeated the Valle Warriors 166-169.

Valle had the consistency as there was only one stroke difference between their low and high scores for the team. Keith Basler, Brad Sexauer, Mitchell Davis all shot 42 for the nine holes. Kolby Armbruster shot a 43.

McLaurin had a two-over-par 38 for Arcadia Valley, Chris Spitzmiller shot a 41, Abe Warren had a 42, and Blaine Dunivan scored a 45. Dustin Branstetter had a 48 and Justin Hammer shot a 66.

Arcadia Valley 2-0 will be at home on Thursday to face the Clearwater Tigers. Valle will host Hillsboro on Friday.
