Parents: Millerson and Emma (Mathews) Shrum

Four sisters preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Clark Simmons. Two brothers survive: Warren Shrum (Mary Ann) of Plainfield, Indiana and Grant Shrum (Alma) of Orlando, Florida. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Bonne Terre, Missouri since April 17, 1938. She was a charter member of the Ethel Lindquist Circle of the United Methodist Women’s Society. She was a teacher in the Missouri Public Schools for 38 Years. Mrs. Simmons was a dedicated educator and leader in preparing young people for living and serving as responsible and productive citizens. She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Southeast Missouri University, from which she also received a Masters Degree ). Her useful, caring and loving personality will live on in the lives and memories of family, friends and the hundreds of people that benefited from her dedicated service.
