Farmington, Potosi netters dominate Twin City foes

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Knights tennis team came out strong on their home courts on Thursday against Festus. Farmington dominated the entire meet as they finished victorious 8-1.

Brad Green won the No. 2 singles match by the score of 8-0. The No. 2 doubles of Green and Patrick Singer and the No. 3 doubles of Justin Arnold and Jordan Villmer also came out victorious by the score of 8-0. Jared Treaster and Bran Prasuhn squeezed by in the No. 1 doubles match by the score of 8-6.

Treaster dominated the No. 3 singles match while Villmer emerged victorious in the No. 6 singles match by the score of 8-1. Arnold came out on top in the No. 5 match by the score of 8-2 while Prasuhn edged out the win in the No. 4 match 9-7.

The Knights, now 4-1, will travel to Jefferson City on Saturday for the Helias Invitational.

Potosi 8, Crystal City 1

CRYSTAL CITY – The Potosi Trojans finished out the sweep of Twin City schools with an 8-1 win over the Crystal City Hornets. The Trojans only loss came in No. 1 doubles as John Haguewood and Kurtis Davis came up on the short end of an 8-6 score.

Chad Pashia and Shea Stark won 8-2 in their doubles match, and Wil Norviel and Nathan Payne pulled off an 8-1 win.

Haguewood and Pashia both shut out their opponents, 8-0, in singles. David and Norviel scored 8-1 wins and Stark recorded an 8-2 victory while Payne doubled up his Hornet foe 8-4.

Potosi, 2-3, will play at De Soto this afternoon in another non-conference meet.
